Hi, I’m Carney! I created Layne Drum Studio in 2025 with one basic goal: share my love of drumming with everyone. 

      I got my start on the drums when I was a few years old. My Dad, also a lifelong drummer, sat me on his lap while he played, effectively starting me on my very first lesson. I am much older now and have been learning and loving the drums ever since. I started playing in church at thirteen and it was there that I really came into my own as a musician and as a person. Worship is by far my favorite way to use this instrument. I later went on to earn a degree in music from Portland Bible College where I also taught drums as a private instructor. I have played in various bands and worship teams and have recorded music as a hobby for years now.

      My hope is that my years of experience in music can help others experience the enriching joy of music. Whether you want to learn to become a great drummer or are looking to record your next big project, I would love to help!
