Hi, I’m Carney! I created Layne Drum Studio in 2025 with one basic goal: share my love of drumming with everyone. 

      I got my start on the drums when I was a few years old. My Dad, also a lifelong drummer, sat me on his lap while he played, effectively starting me on my very first lesson. I am thirty now and have been learning and loving the drums ever since. I started playing in church at thirteen and it was there that I really came into my own as a musician and as a person. Worship is by far my favorite way to use this instrument. I later went on to earn a degree in music from Portland Bible College where I also taught drums as a private instructor and have played in various bands and gigs. I have also recorded music as a hobby for years now.

      My hope is that my years of experience in music can be of service to you, whether you want to learn to become the next great drummer or are looking for a drummer to record in your next great project.
